I plucked up the courage to give Ohri’s 100 Degrees another try last week. While my experience wasn’t as bad as last time, it was still pretty far from good.
The staff needs to get a few lessons in communication (among other things). We requested them to bring the appetizer along with the drinks and then bring the food later, so they made sure that snack reached well after the food was on the table. When we told them to take it back because it was too late and the food had arrived, the captain suggested that since it was only three pieces per head we might as well accept it. Needless to say, we had to cancel.
The Tandoori Chicken sizzler that Vinay had was decent, but the others were just not that great. Thoroughly uninteresting and lacking in flavour.
The ambience still sucks. The jail house/drain pipe theme they’ve got is simply depressing. Too bad it sits on the fragrant banks of the Tank Bund. Sit inside and it looks like a sewer. Sit outside and it smells like one!
I’m not quite sure if “sizzlers cheeeezzzzzzz!!!!” is some idiotic slogan that they’ve got or something..
They keep writing in and telling me to experience the damn thing.. After last week, I’m just not interested.
This dinner didn’t do much to improve my opinion of Ohri’s 100 Degrees. After I wrote the last piece on this restaurant, I did receive a couple of emails asking me to come back and give it another try.
Well guess what fellas, I did give it another try..
.. and its still a lousy restaurant.
In other news, the Chicken Satellite sizzler at Bombay Blues is pretty damn awesome. You must try it. 😛
Over and out.
